Good tools are half the work 

Lamers Tooling has been known for tooling skills for over 60 years. In 1960 Lamers Sr. started the company and repaired machines. Since the 70s he was mainly active as a toolmaker, specializing in injection moulds for plastic injection moulding and diecast moulds for aluminium foundries. Soon he switched from the conventional way of machining to CNC machining. Precision work was needed. The business grew, partly by the demand for higher quality requirements. 

In 1987, his son Jos Lamers started in the business in the toolroom. To gain experience, he did several jobs in the company and learned to work with the various machines. Meanwhile, a new building was built at the current location of Lamers Tooling in Tegelen. The completion of the new building in 1991 was accompanied by Jos taking over the ownership, and is still the director-owner of the company today. 

The competition in the industry in which Lamers Tooling operates has increased due to globalization (low-wage countries). In order to maintain a good market position, we continue to invest in our employees to give them every opportunity to develop themselves. And of course we continue to invest in new techniques and relationships. Under the leadership of Jos, we started 3D machining by means of CAM software in 1996. In 2013 the production process was radically expanded to include 5-axis milling including robot loading, which ensures that both single pieces and series can be produced 24/7 man less. 

To spread the risk, Lamers Tooling presents itself as a generalist with various specialties. Injection moulds and diecast moulds are still the main activity, press moulds, dies and precision mechanical parts. In an ever-changing market, we move with the demand as best we can and adjust our services accordingly. Since 2015 we have been supplying international companies with press moulds for military helmets. Machine and equipment builders know how to find us more and more for the supply of accurate precision mechanical parts. It is our challenge to find technical solutions to specific questions and problems of our customers. And that that results in satisfied customers. For customers both inside and outside Europe. 

Our activities for the Aerospace and Defense industry are increasing. For Dutch companies, but also foreign companies, whether or not suppliers to the Dutch defense. Therefore We have experience with export licenses for military goods. In 2024 we hope to complete successfully the certification for the Aerospace standard AS9100D.

Meanwhile, the third generation of Lamers is also working in our company. Jarle Lamers started in 2019 as a engineering. He also manages the production. Jos Lamers has no plans yet to stop as director-owner, so Jarle still has enough time to gain further knowledge and experience and make a choice. We will also continue to invest in new employees, so that this beautiful profession not get lost.
